About Sabrina!
Sabrina Kreiss is a 22 year old dancer and arts administrator born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Hartford (The Hartt School Dance Division) in 2025 and currently resides in New York City.
Sabrina began her dance training at the Astrid Audet Academy of Ballet and More in 2006. She then studied dance at Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from 2008 until her graduation in 2021.
As a student in the Pine Crest dance program, Sabrina was part of the annual full length ballet production since she was 11 years old. She had multiple soloist roles during her time at Pine Crest including Odile in Swan Lake and Myrtha in an excerpt from Giselle. Sabrina was also a part of “Dance Etc”, Pine Crest’s studio company, for 6 years. As a part of the company, Sabrina performed in excerpts from classical ballets, including Don Quixote and Paquita, as well as student and faculty choreographed modern, lyrical, contemporary and jazz pieces. Although ballet is her favorite and most proficient style of dance, Sabrina is also trained in contemporary and classical modern (Horton, Limon, Graham, Taylor). Sabrina has been dancing since she was 3 years old and in her 20 years of experience has attended multiple prestigious summer intensives such as those associated with Boston Ballet, Ballet Palm Beach, and The American Ballet Theatre. While attending these intensives, Sabrina had the privilege to work with many notable artists such as Chris Anderson, Dawn Atkins, Wes Chapman, Beth Ferrel, Susie Londoner, Christopher Huggins and Rodger Van Fleteran.
Sabrina began her college dance career at The Hartt School in West Hartford, Connecticut in the fall of 2021. The curriculum includes daily ballet technique, pointe, pas de deux, and modern classes each semester. A number of scholastic classes are also included such as ballet pedagogy, kinesiology, ear training for dancers, and dance history, among others during the 4 year program. During her time in the program, Sabrina had the opportunity to perform in works choreographed by Stephen Pier, Tessa Flynn, Blue Richardson, Meghan Keller, Marius Petipa, August Bourninville, Martha Graham, José Limon, Paul Taylor, Debra Collins Ryder, Katie Stevinson-Nollet and Pascal Rioult, some of which were set and restaged by Hartt Dance faculty members. Before her graduation in 2025, Sabrina was awarded with the Senior Outstanding Achievement Award, recognizing her growth and commitment to her studies during her time in the Dance Division.
Sabrina’s senior thesis project was one of the highlights of her time at the Hartt School. Each Dance Division senior is tasked with producing two evening length concerts during their senior year; one in which they commission a solo from a professional choreographer and choreograph a group piece on younger division dancers and another in which they are on the production team. Sabrina performed “Summertime”, a contemporary-pointe solo with hints of jazz choreographed by Michael Waldrop and choreographed “Echoes Within”, a contemporary pointe group work during the fall semester and stage managed her peer’s concert in the spring. Sabrina also participated in merchandise and poster creation, social media advertising, writing a press release and arranging outside vendors. During her production semester, Sabrina stage managed her peers’ concert.
While in school, Sabrina held an internship in the Marketing and Communications office at the University of Hartford where she served as the assistant to the Social Media Manager. After joining the social media ambassadors club during her freshmen year, she was asked to take on this paid internship position for the following year. Sabrina gained experience organizing monthly analytics, creating engaging content to be posted across multiple platforms, and attending professional events to collect content and network with potential students as well as donors and sponsors. Sabrina also participated in an internship with Joffrey Ballet School as an Administrative Assistant in New York City for 6 weeks and a subsequent 4 weeks in Miami as a Resident Administrative Assistant Leader during their summer intensive season in 2024.
Sabrina graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Hartt School in May of 2025. Immediately following her graduation, she returned to Joffrey Ballet School as one of their Administrative Assistant Leads, where she coordinated schedules for a group of Administrative Assistants, provided high level support to the Operations Managers and Director of Operations, coordinated transportation of 100lb+ rolls of marley and barres between rented studio spaces, and coordinated lunch plan distribution with outside vendors, alongside other typical administrative tasks.
Currently, Sabrina is a Front Desk and Administrative Assistant at both Ballet Hispanico and the Paul Taylor Dance Company. She looks forward to a prosperous career as an arts administrator and freelance dancer.
